musemind conversations // ep. 1

Welcome to the VERY first recap of the VERY first episode of MuseMind Conversations!!! MuseMind Conversations is a Twitter/X space co-hosted by dvdv, Charisse Sky, and me, Celia Inside. It will be held most Thursday mornings at 10:30am EST for 30 min. to one hour tops. We are super stoked to come together as artist-producers and as creators in general to have some deep, creative conversations about art, and see where the muse takes us.

clicking the image will take you to the tweet so you can play it back!

Here are a couple cool features you can expect around this space to make it… idk, more permanent, felt, and impactful!: a brief summary of each episode here on the i-wave blog; a visual sketch summary of each episode created by dvdv (below!); a monthly musical component led by Charisse Sky!

RECAP:

In our first episode, we arrived with a mission to find a name for our space, and also to introduce ourselves. From there, we ventured off onto a few different paths such as our experience with collaborations of all kinds, what music and making it means to us, our relationship to visuals, and more! Check out dvdv’s incredible sketch for our first show:

ART

As for our goals & guide posts for these conversations, we want it to feel natural. We want it to be an inspiring, motivating force for our own days, and hopefully spread that energy out to you. We want to talk about art, creation, and the philosophy behind all that we’re doing. I think we are less concerned with engagement and more focused on supporting each other to keep pushing ourselves, and to keep showing up for our artist selves.

QUOTABLES:

“when i hear music, i see something.” – dvdv

“music is my therapy. i have to have some kind of music around me in some form.” – Charisse

“you have to go through door number one to even see doors number two, three….” – Celia

“music is really magical, so i was afraid to touch it when i start going thru it w/ my analyzation brain….” – dvdv

The quotation from dvdv in bold above will be the starting point for our next space! We hope to see you at the next MuseMind Conversations!
