We’re backkkk for episode two of MuseMind Conversations, the new Twitter space from me (Celia Inside), dvdv, and Charisse Sky! God, I really love doing this space already, and I will tell you why: the intention behind it to uplift each other, and be a bright spot of our day/week. THAT’S IT and it’s feeling really good so far!
Recap:
Ok, so, episode two: music = magic? We were without Charisse this episode, but she wrote out her thoughts and we kicked off the convo with her powerful words:
Music transcends time, space, language, and culture. It is my lifeline. I have always been surrounded with it. I come from a family of talented noisemakers— musicians, singers, and entertainers. It’s a spiritual endeavor, a divination from the depths of my soul that just so happens to manifest as sound. It is also my therapy. Whenever I have a load of emotions, I find myself needing to literally produce sound, whether it be yelling, singing, or just making a beat.
When my mind is full and running a mile an hour, the act of creating music gives me clarity, and peace. There are no rules to music other than invoking a feeling and stimulating our senses. To me it is healing, and I am 100% certain that without it I would not be on Earth today. It has literally been my saving grace. For that reason, whether I ever make a single dime from music or not is irrelevant. It is my soul’s food, and I intend to consume it and create it for as long as I live.

Check out dvdv’s gorgeous sketch summary of the convo for this week:
dvdv came in to say that music “does something to your body at a level that nothing else can. these things stick with you on a different level.” I agreed and added that artists/music can make us feel understood in ways others cannot.
We then moved into a convo about how our society can corrupt this magic — especially the magic making (content, content, content! free streaming! wahhh) — and yet music remains undefeated still.
Quotables:
“somebody sees what i’m going thru in a parallel way.” – dvdv
“When my mind is full and running a mile an hour, the act of creating music gives me clarity, and peace.” – Charisse
“i’m interested in the way our relationship has changed w/ it over time. lately, in my older years, i’m seeking out different powers of it — music that uplifts me vs. music that is sadder or darker that i used to gravitate towards more when i was younger.” – Celia
“music’s been there for me when nobody else was.” – Celia
Speaking of music being there for us, what will it look like in the future? Episode three will be all about music in the future! Join us here on Thursday, 12/14 @ 10:30 EST!
