Happy Friday anddd WELCOME back to MuseMind Conversations recaps here on iridescent wave! MuseMind Conversations is the bi-weekly Twitter space from me (Celia Inside), dvdv, and Charisse Sky. We come together to connect around our work and process, and go where the muse takes us topic-wise. The goal is to FEEL GOOD and support each other. Guests always welcome!
Recap
On episode seven (from 3/7/24), we took some time to celebrate a DOUBLE drop day for Charisse & me!
We decided to explore the current state of sound.xyz for this drop (making it Charisse’s genesis on that platform, btw!) and actually officially released our songs at the same time, which I was thought was super cute and supportive of us! Check out dvdv’s incredible art for the episode:
Our dear friend dvdv, being the lovely person that she is, prepared some thoughtful interview questions for both of us that led Charisse & me on a journey of how our songs came to be.
Charisse dropped “Forever Jaded,” a heavy, reflective track about a rough time for her in a past relationship. She described the song as “running into my own arms,” which I loved.
As for me, I dropped a live performance track — the audio from my recent Tiny Desk Contest submission! It’s a brand new song I wrote in like three days called “Reach” and it’s the most alternative, guitar-driven thing I’ve done in a long time — I kind of love it too!
Here’s a link to the recorded space to hear more about these incredible songs if I may so myself:
All in all, we are all SUPER proud of each other for all the amazing work we’ve been doing lately! <3
Quotables
“It’s important to me today because I find myself going through the same emotions. Grieving who I used to be and people I used to be around, but also making space for new beginnings.” – Charisse
“I think it’s a trick I play on myself lately — to give myself VERY little time to make something so that i simply don’t have time to overthink it, overEDIT it, etc. I just gotta WRITE it and SING it.” – Celia
“You’re making a song about being okay with not being okay.” – dvdv on Charisse’s “Forever Jaded”
See you at the next MuseMind Convo! Only on… Twitter, sigh.
