It never ceases to amaze me how quickly the web3 space changes. While I try to focus on my work, be the change I want to see, and avoid letting toxicity fuck with my head (been there!), I have to agree with Henry Chatfield’s summation of the culture of web3 music at the moment. I feel like I’m watching people fall into scarcity mindset holes that I fell into it in my early days of this shit. Fun!
Anyway, here we are, and I guess my core beliefs remain true: that you can’t go wrong if you center your values, and center the work. For me, that’s good music, and… collaboration! The importance of that and what it can bring is clearer than ever to me now.
So, enter the i-wave mixtape project. Gosh, I’ve entered… three grants/contests in just the last week, it seems, and while that has been a bit overwhelming, it has also sharpened my vision for iridescent wave and where it’s going.
Contest win or not, we press on. I’m excited to put this idea out there, and to find those it resonates with to help bring it to life very soon. Click the screenshot below to learn more about the i-wave mixtape, and consider voting for it in the Somefund contest.
On that page, you’ll also find my We <3 the Art contest submission (lol) for Optimism, which came out as a kind of video open letter or personal statement. Here’s a direct link to it, now minting on Zora via my where-do-i-STARTer pack:
You’ll be hearing more about this project soon. In the meantime, keep your heart! Don’t lose yourself, and keep going.
